You truely know when a song is a classic and it ministers to the heart and not just the ears.. Although I have had the "Hero" CD since it came out... and have listened to Imagine Me, a million times. I sang the song because I liked the beat, the video was tight, and the concept was on point..BUT NEVER DID I BELIEVE IN THE SONG - I would sing the words, but in my heart I never felt like I could imagine myself as GOD see's me. I can never imagine myself (with my own insecurities) loving what I see when I look in the mirror. I never felt I was ever good enough in GOD's eyes, I never thought I was pretty enough "to man" or even myself. Hurt in the past by family and close friends (the church), I WAS DONE.. I could never IMAGINE ME in anything.
BUT GOD!!!
Thank you Lord for knowing and chosing me in my mothers womb, and making me wonderfully made. Thank you for your patience GOD and loving and teaching me of how AWESOME you are and how I could finally one day see myself as you see me. March 15, 2009 The Emancipation of Capricia.. Yea Mariah Carey had an album the Emancipation of Me-Me...but I truly felt now what it is to be free. Free from other peoples perceptions, free from their validations, free from condemination. Thank you Lord and THANK YOU KIRK for being a man after GOD's own heart. You had to have the heart of GOD to make such a wonderful word (not song) but a wonderful word as "IMAGINE ME". I no longer care how the world looks at me, as long as I hold up the intergrity and character that GOD has instilled in me and make sure whats important is how he looks at me. I am now only concerned with that when GOD looks at me he smiles, and just as important I feel good enough inside to SMILE BACK! Keep doing what you doing Kirk and may GOD continue to smile on you and your family!
