Enter your comments here:: LaJuan is a DC native who’s battling cancer. She’s a 41 year old single mother of four who’s fighting to live for her kids. Her body is rejecting every medication and there’s nothing else the doctors can do. They have given her days to live and someone from Hospice visits her weekly. Her faith, love, and admiration for God is what’s keeping her alive. Gospel artist Kirk Franklin, who is one of her favorite artists, has a song that’s out called “Before I Die”. One day I went to visit her when she was in pain, tired, and exhausted. I took my iPad because I knew music would take her mind of the pain. I first played Beyonce’s “Love on Top” and she started singing and moving her body. After the song went off she asked if I had the song “Before I Die” by Kirk Franklin. As weak as she was, she took my iPad and began to do a rap about Jesus as the song was playing. She then looked up at me and said she would love to meet Kirk to ask him if he would let her rewrite the song with her lyrics mixed with his and the two of them could perform it together. At the time when she said this, I listened in sorrow knowing God could take her any day and she would never have a chance to meet Kirk. I do not know if you can help in any way to make her dying wish come true and I wasn’t going to contact you, but I can’t sit back and do nothing knowing this is her secret wish. I have a recorded video of her that I recorded with my cell phone as she was holding my iPad and rapping with Kirk’s song. I was so moved by it I had to record it to keep as a memory. I wanted to know if there’s any way Channel 5 could somehow get this message to Kirk Franklin or his team. If all he can do is call her to say hi it would be a blessing. I do not know how much longer she’ll be with us but meeting Kirk would really make her day. Please, if anyone in the studio can help with this I would greatly appreciate it. I can email the video as well if you like. My name is Lori McNealy and I can be reached at 202-669-4468. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
