Hello, My name is Linda. I am a 43 years old, married and have seven children. I live in a community where there is a lot of young teenagers, and I'm familiar with a lot of them. Three years ago I experienced something that changed my life forever with a teenager.
One morning I drop my kids off at school, and I heard God told me to turn the car around and go another route, because He had something He wanted me to do. When I heard God told me this, at first I questioned myself, whether it was my thoughts, but the inner voice was too loud too ignor, and I knew it was God. I turned the car around, and then said to myself, let me see just what it is, God want me to do.
As I headed towards the road God told me to travel, I noticed a young male walking towards the school with his book bag on his back. I immediately said to myself, this is what you wanted to show me, and I stop and ask him did he needed a ride to school? He said yes, and got in the car. As we began to converse, he started smiling and laughing, and began to express why he was so happy.
He started telling me, that he was tired of walking, and was getting frustrated at the many cars that was passing him by, so he ask God, if you are real, then send somebody to pick me up. I became estastic just like him, and begin to smile. I told him; yes son, God is real, Jesus love you so much, and He answered your prayers. I told him how God told me to turn the car around because He had something He wanted me to do.
He told me His name was Micheal, and that he was a senior in High School. He was sooooooo estastic that God had told me to turn my car around for him. We arrived at the school, and I mention my children names to him, and he said he knew them.We arrived at the school, and Micheal exited the car, while still smiling and laughing at what had just happened. I was blown away too, but I was familiar with God's divine intervention from the past.
A few days later, my son, who was in college, called me and told me that Micheal had contacted him on myspace and told him of the situation, and he was still very excited. I was still happy about it too. As time went on, I never saw micheal or heard from him again. Two years later I was on facebook, and my son posted sympathy to Micheal Walker's family.
I immediately inboxed my son and ask him which micheal is this you're talking about? Because I did not know Micheal last name. My son inboxed me and told me, it was the Micheal I had meet. My son told me that Micheal had commited suicide. He hung himself from his room window. I couldn't believe what I had just heard, I was messed up, and confused. The news hurted me really bad.
The question I had was: What went wrong? How did this happened? What more could I have said or done for Micheal that day, and why didn't I keep in contact with him? I attended the funeral, and meet Micheal's mother. I introduced myself to her and told her how I meet Micheal, she immediately hug me and said; Micheal told me all about you, and the conversation he had with you. I later found out that Micheal had told his friends as well. I was told that Micheal had been struggling in his faith to believe in God.
From that day, I vowed in my heart that there will never be another teenager who cross my path, that I will let this happen to. I vowed to do all I can to minister to youths on a greater scale, and give them more of my attention and help them in whatever way I possible can. I established a ministry in my heart first, and called it "SMOOTH TRANSITION" YOUTH OUTREACH before I ever had put it on paper.
I name it "SMOOTH TRANSITION" because I want to minister to the youth in such a way that it transition their thoughts from discouragements, bondage, and hopelessness, over to the positive and support that God offer through His Word, like Jerimiah 29:11-12, For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall you seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.
This ministry is in memory of Micheal Walker. The vision is to reach as many teenagers as possible throughout the world. I've always loved encouraging youths, inviting them to my home to eat and having youth gathering for them in my other ministry "SHO NUFF" ANOINTED MINISTRIES. This is another level of ministry that must go forth, and be pacifically geared for youths, because God has called me to it.
I have already wrote the vision, and I am ready to share it. If there is anyone that can bring support to this vision, please contact me. I will appreciate all the support. To Kirk Franklin, if you read this post and God move on your heart to extend support, it will change more lives, especially in my community. God bless everyone for taking the time to read this post. Thank you.
