Dick Figures is an animated web series created by Ed Skudder & Zack Keller about two best best friends named Red & Blue. It’s more awesome than a supernova wrapped in bacon. From the mundane to the magical, the world of the series combines off-the-wall action, absurd comedy, filmic references, mythical creatures, adorable animals, an eclectic soundtrack, lots of explosions, and a cast of colorful characters living out their lives in complete acceptance of the insanity surrounding them. Yet at the adrenaline-powered-blood-pumping heart of it all, the show is just pure fun.

Dick Figures is the most popular animated show on YouTube with over 120,000,000 total views, 11,000,000 new views a month and over a million subscribers on Mondo Media, the channel that brought you Happy Tree Friends, Dr. Tran, and Baman Piderman. Produced by animation studio Six Point Harness in Los Angeles, the show’s success has spawned four season (forty episodes), four original soundtracks on iTunes, ringtones, phone skins, and a t-shirt line that sold out its first merchandise order in only eight hours. The show keeps growing, but now we want to give audiences even more.

We want to make a Dick Figures movie... for the fans and with the fans. If we were to pitch the film to a big Hollywood studio, they would most likely turn us down. While working with big studios is an important part of getting a film funded and shown to an audience, it also comes with a lot of compromises. We wanted to find a way to avoid all that and make a movie that was original, different, and true to what our fans had grown to love. Dick Figures has thrived on the freedom the internet allows, and with your help we can keep it that way.

Thanks to Kickstarter (applause), we have a way to connect directly to our audience and let the fans fund a project that they want to see. You can help us create a story that would otherwise have no way to get off the ground. And because we’re making a smaller movie without a big studio overhead, we can finish it for a hundredth of the cost of a Hollywood blockbuster, in a fraction of the time, and deliver it directly to you. Plus we’ll be filming the entire thing as we go so you can see first-hand how the creation of an animated film works, and get a never-before-seen look at the world behind Dick Figures.

We’re starting by asking for $250,000 to make an all-new half-hour Dick Figures special, written and directed by Ed Skudder & Zack Keller. But that’s only the beginning. If you want more... show us! If we raise $500,000 we will have enough to make a 60-minute Dick Figures movie. And if we get $700,000 you will get a full-length feature film! We know it seems like a lot of money, but Yogi Bear cost 80 million dollars. Just saying. Plus we’re going to send you lots of cool stuff to thank you for your support.

All in all, it will take no more than six months to complete, but the whole time we are making it, we want you interacting. Backers of the project will be given access to a private online community where they can watch the progress of the film, see designs and sample animation, view the making-of as it happens, and communicate with the filmmakers personally on an exclusive forum. Our goal is to be open and honest about making the movie we love and sharing it with our supporters as we go along. When it’s all said and done, for $15 you will receive a digital copy of the completed movie and access to the behind-the-scenes forum. And if you want to give more, we’re offering all kinds of premium rewards such as signed artwork, exclusive movie posters and T-Shirts, personalized tours of the animation studio and even being a guest voice in the movie!
